2 of our juniors star in Gateshead Junior Open

This years Gateshead Junior Open started on 1st June and included the following competitions

• 8&U Boys Singles
• 8&U Girls Singles
• 9&U Boys Singles
• 9&U Girls Singles
• 10&U Boys Singles
• 10&U Girls Singles
• 12&U Boys Singles
• 12&U Girls Singles
• 14&U Boys Doubles
• 14&U Boys Singles
• 14&U Girls Doubles
• 14&U Girls Singles
• 16&U Boys Singles
• 16&U Girls Singles
• 18&U Boys Doubles
• 18&U Boys Singles
• 18&U Girls Doubles
• 18&U Girls Singles

2 of Boldon LTC's junior members, Paulo Preston and Sarah Stansfield, competed and both performed extremely well.

Paulo played in the 12 and under Boys where he was seeded 4th out of 15 entries.  He reached the Semi-Final where he was narrowly beaten in a 3rd set tie-breaker by the 2nd seed Kyle Upton.

Sarah played the 16 and under Girls where she was unseeded out of 6 entries, yet went a step further winning the competition without dropping a set.  She beat the 2nd seed, Kusalta Gurung, 6-4 7-5 in the semis and took the final 6-4 6-0 against Jessica Laws, who had beaten the first seed in the semis.
